Angry Tears

by Boxer Wyze

I trusted the sweetest, or so I thought, girl
Who smiled at me, kissed me, and gave me the world
And then when I had it, or so I thought, all
From the height of our love, she let my heart fall.

This was betrayal.
This was unfair.
I paid with devotion.
I did my fair share.

I’d mastered the earth
And lassoed the sun.
I’d cornered the stars
and the moon just for fun…

…But now this sensation runs hot on my face,
Like lava that burns down the mountain.
I boil within from a deep, angry place
And the tears rush and flow like a fountain.
